Why I build TeamShotsPro

We ran a stressful once-a-year production just to fill a tiny square on a website. That is exactly the kind of dumb process AI is good at fixing.

Why I build TeamShotsPro

Every company I worked at had the same small, stupid problem. Nobody ever fixed it.

At my last company we were a remote team. Growing fast. People everywhere. We only got everyone in the same room once a year, at the team event.

So that became headshot day.

The pain was real. For some people it was a genuine hassle. Our design team got turned into photographers. They had to source the equipment and haul it along. The session ate into the little free time we had at the event, the part that was supposed to be for the team, not for work. And there was never a good spot. We would hunt for a background and end up in a hotel lobby. Hotel lobbies are built to look stylish, not to give you clean, clear photos of a face.

So it never worked well.

People came off a long day, not in the mood. Dressed for travel, not for a photo they would carry for a year. The light was wrong. The energy was wrong. And it only happened once a year, so anyone who joined the week after waited ten months for a picture.

Here is the thing we never said out loud. These were not real photoshoots.

The photos ended up small. On a website. On a team page. Next to an email. They exist so someone can look and think, that is her, that is who I am talking to.

That is the whole job. Recognition. Not art. Not a magazine cover. A small image that looks like you.

We were running a big, stressful, once-a-year production to fill a tiny square.

That is exactly the kind of dumb process AI is good at fixing.

You do not need studio proof for a face the size of a thumbnail. You need it to look like the person. Clean, consistent, current. AI does that beautifully. One clear selfie, and the whole team matches. The website looks like one company. New hires show up on day one, not at next year's event. And design gets to stay design.

That is what pulled me in. Not the flashy side of AI. The quiet side. The part that takes a heavy, silly process and makes it light.

TeamShotsPro is me pointing that at one small thing everybody just puts up with.

No headshot day. No turning the design team into a photo crew. No waiting for everyone to be in the same city, in the right clothes, in the right mood. Which never happens all at once anyway.

Right-size the effort to the actual need. That was the whole insight.

If that sounds familiar, TeamShotsPro is the version I built so teams never have to run headshot day again.

I have stopped believing the best ideas are out in the future. Most of them are sitting in the small, dumb things we have all agreed to just live with.
